MK On The Level are bricklaying craftsmen. Whether working on a new build or a heritage structure, we approach every project with the same degree of commitment and professionalism.

On new builds, our reputation for exceptional quality brickwork means that we work with confidence on high-end and architect-led projects.

We also have expertise in working on conservation projects, including repairs and pointing for Victorian town houses, churches and Grade I and II listed buildings. Traditional brickwork of course requires the use of lime mortar pointing – see below.

From new constructions such as private house extensions, through to repairing churches or other historic buildings, we have decades of experience of working with flint. We conserve, restore and build using this traditional and beautiful building material.

We love the challenge and the reward of working with flint. As a building material, it demands patience, but it provides a uniquely pleasing look that is harmonious to the surrounding landscape.

We provide stonework services for both contemporary and traditional projects. This includes:

• stone cladding for new builds
• building retaining or boundary walls
• stonework pointing (with finishes appropriate to the stone)
• restoring stonework facades

Our masonry expertise is used by homeowners, developers, churches, local authorities and architects.

Our team are skilled at all aspects of lime mortar pointing - as well as crack stitching and brick replacement as required.

Lime mortar is present in many traditional buildings, including most domestic properties built before the 1920s. Although general builders often repoint with cement-based mortars, this is not recommended. It often looks unattractive and may cause structural problems further down the line.

MK On The Level carefully repair and replace lime pointing to respect your building’s heritage and preserve its structural integrity.

MK On the Level can install Yorkshire Paving for interior or exterior work. We can work with reclaimed or newly quarried stone to produce level and precise results.

Yorkstone is prized for its timeless beauty and incredible durability. However, working with it requires greater care and skill than for the more commonly-used sandstones. As experienced craftsmen, our work does justice to this striking material, delivering attractive driveways, patios, steps, footpaths and more.
